Installation with bypass
By pass allows emergency water use if ever there is a problem with the filter (like freeze damage, leaking o-ring or pr valve, or a clogged filter and you nave no replacement element on hand). If you intend to use a lot of water without needing it filtered (as in irrigation use) this bypass could be used to save the filter element from premature replacement.
